Singer Songwriter Heaven located in Beekman, NY (lower Dutchess County) provides a listening room and scenic environment for nationally touring musicians as well as some of the premier songwriters in the tri-state area. We have been fortunate to be able to present Vance Gilbert, Pierce Pettis, Pat Wictor, Tracy Grammer, and Greg Trooper as well as several other noteworthy artists. A pot luck is held before each show giving fans an opportunity to mix and mingle with each other as well as the artists. All donations go to the artists.
Singer Songwriter Heaven is proud to present 3 songwriters 1 mic featuring Jim Pospisil, Eric Lee, and Walter Ensor.
Jim Pospisil has spent a lifetime writing and performing songs. A retired postal worker, he has earned the title "the John Prine of the Hudson Valley". He plays multiple instruments and multiple styles ranging from singer-songwriter to blues and is also known for belting out a couple of Irish tunes. His songs combine humor, intelligence, and creativity with heart-warming sensitivity. Listening to Jim Pospisil perform will make your soul smile.
Eric Lee grew up in rural upstate NY. He studied classical violin as well as traditional Irish fiddle starting at age 9. After moving to Western Massachusetts as a teen, he got involved with psychedelic rock and bluegrass. Subsequently, he became an integral part of the supergroup The Strangelings. Additionally, he has become a fixture in the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival House Band giving him the opportunity to perform with folk stars such as Vance Gilbert, Tom Rush, John Gorka and Peter Rowan. Eric is an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist equally comfortable sharing the stage as a sideman or in the spotlight playing an original. Eric's writing reflects a musical pilgrimage beyond his years, covering topics as diverse as heartbreak to the Fall of Man.
Walter Ensor is another multi-instrumentalist virtuoso who has shared the stage with such luminaries as Pete Seeger, Shawn Colvin, Tommy Makem, and The Wolfetones. Walter has been part of the Irish band Celtic Cross, frequently heard on WFUV as well as headlining Irish festivals and cruises. He has played all over the world from Madison Square Garden and Shea Stadium to Ireland, Australia and beyond. Nowhere is Walter happier than being on stage with his Gibson.
Kathy Moran grew up in CT and is currently on the Board of Directors of CT Folk. Kathy writes and performs songs throughout CT and the Hudson Valley. She is a regular at Summer Songs. Her songs reflect both universal themes as well as deeply personal love stories.
